Every curl client at Sweet T starts with a pre-consult. For damaged curls we use Olaplex Stand Alone Treatments, which can bring your curl back without "The Big Chop."
We've been amazed by what Stand Alone Treatments do for curly hair, from wavy to coily. Ask most curly clients whether they'd wear their hair curly if they could learn to get consistent, frizz-free curls. The answer is almost always yes.

Pre-consult
Every curl client starts with a pre-consult.
Detox
Some clients start with a detox, especially hair with heavy heat or chemical damage.
Curl-by-curl cut
We cut curl by curl, so you can keep the length you want.
Olaplex Stand Alone Treatment
We apply Olaplex No. 1 for 20 minutes, then No. 2 for 20 minutes.
Cleanse and condition
We finish with a sulfate-free cleanser and a silicone-free conditioner.
Some clients go home with Olaplex No. 3 as a mini-treatment and leave-in. Your exact steps depend on your hair.
Curl types
Which curl type are you?
Most curly heads have more than one curl type, and the clients we see at Sweet T fall into four main groups.
- Virgin: curly hair with no color. Often fine and limp.
- S'wavy (slightly wavy): wavy curls with a slight S-bend. Easy to mistake for straight hair.
- Botticelli/corkscrew: longer, sausage-like curls. They frizz easily and can show breakage and dryness.
- Coily: super curly, kinky curls, including African American and multi-textured hair. Many coily clients are transitioning from pressing or relaxers and are dealing with straight pieces and breakage.

Client 1: corkscrew mix
She came in for a pre-consult with heavily pressed ends and major heat and chemical damage, especially in the front. We did a detox and a Stand Alone Treatment with No. 1 for 20 minutes and No. 2 for 20 minutes. We beat her expectations on the first visit without cutting off her curls. She went home with Olaplex No. 3 as a mini-treatment and leave-in, and she's growing out nicely.
Client 2: s'wavy
Her curls were already healthy and needed a boost. She got a curl-by-curl cut, then an Olaplex Stand Alone Treatment with No. 1 for 20 minutes and No. 2 for 20 minutes. We cleansed with a sulfate-free cleanser and a silicone-free conditioner. The result: shiny, clumpy, bouncy curls.
Client 3: corkscrew mix
She had damage from relaxers and pressing, with major straight pieces even after a curl-by-curl cut, because she didn't want to lose her length. One Stand Alone Treatment, with No. 1 for 20 minutes and No. 2 for 20 minutes, took her side pieces from zero curl to curly.
Client 4: s'wavy/wavy
She needed a curl-by-curl cut and a refresh with Olaplex. We applied No. 1 for 20 minutes and sent her home to process with No. 2 in her hair. She cleansed and conditioned about 5 to 6 hours later. Her limp curls came back shiny and defined, with snap.
